The SAT
There is plenty of debate as to whether or not the SAT exam ought to be this important, but one thing is certain: As of now, the SAT is very important in the college admissions process! It is also one of the parts of the admissions process where a little effort can dramatically improve your application.
The ACT
Many students who take the SAT should also take the ACT. After learning the reasoning skills that are crucial to both exams, some students perform comparatively higher on one of the two exams. Because reporting your ACT scores is optional, students essentially have everything to gain and nothing to lose from attempting this exam.

High school juniors: with your return to school imminent, the SAT exam looms large. You would typically be asking yourselves two test-prep related questions: When should I take the SAT ? (after adequate preparation) and Should I also take the ACT? (it’s always worth a shot).
The June 6 SAT Problem
This morning, the College Board announced that two sections on the June 6th SAT will not be scored due to a misprint regarding allotted time. What was the misprint? The 20-minute critical reading section had incorrect directions indicating that students had 25 minutes to complete it. Half of students experienced this critical reading as section 8 and the other half as section 9, but all students received the incorrect directions.
Don’t Be Afraid of the New SAT
In a March interview for Business Insider, Anthony Green, standardized test tutor to the 1%, advises that no one take the newly redesigned SAT exams when they first appear in March, May, or June 2016. And although he makes some salient points, my over ten years of experience as a New York-based SAT tutor for a more rounded economic bracket leads me to the opposite conclusion. There is no reason not to sit for the inaugural roll-out.
