The SAT
There is plenty of debate as to whether or not the SAT exam ought to be this important, but one thing is certain: As of now, the SAT is very important in the college admissions process! It is also one of the parts of the admissions process where a little effort can dramatically improve your application.
The ACT
Many students who take the SAT should also take the ACT. After learning the reasoning skills that are crucial to both exams, some students perform comparatively higher on one of the two exams. Because reporting your ACT scores is optional, students essentially have everything to gain and nothing to lose from attempting this exam.

The SAT and Thanksgiving
What could possibly be the relationship between the SAT and Thanksgiving? Is there even any relationship at all? Not really. I suppose if you just received your November SAT scores 2 days earlier, you might have some interesting topics of conversation with relatives. Maybe you’re taking the December SAT in 9 days. Since Thanksgiving is in the middle of the November and December SAT exams, there may be some SAT vocabulary flash cards laying around.
The Scoop on the PSAT/NMSQT
Every October juniors are given the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT. This is essentially a practice round for the real SAT. In fact, PSAT stands for Preliminary SAT (it used to stand for Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test in as much as the SAT used to stand for Scholastic Aptitude Test). PSAT scores do not count for college admissions.
